Check out the piece about Madeleine Albright new memoirs in the Guardian today. It’s really good on the difficulties facing women in positions of power in government, and the way women in power are perceived. For example, she says “if women leaders had acted the way Arafat and Barak did during Camp David, they would have been dismissed as menopausal.” I think that’s a great thought, and rings very true to me.

On a similar subject (high-achieving women and sexism), I think you’ll like this article http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/legal/story.jsp?story=444492 that explains how “the lodgings of the high-ranking judiciary are run like gentlemen’s clubs where ladies are expected to retire after dinner to leave the men to talk”. UUUUURGH!
