I’ve got the new Lyle Lovett album! Oh yes, oh yes, I’ve got the new Lyle Lovett album! It’s called My Baby Don’t Tolerate and is growing on me. It’s not an immediate winner like Pontiac, but it has some shining moments along with a few slow burn songs. There’s a combo of texas swing, gospel and, in fact, pretty much every style Lyle has focussed on in his earlier albums. It’s inspired me to dig out Joshua Judges Ruth and enjoy that one again, too. Oh, I’m a happy little bunny. So far, my favourite lyric is “cute as a bug, short as a minute”. Hurrah!
